The most common question -The pictures I am trying to load on my advert will not load - HELP!!!
Picture uploading is normally a matter of compatibility, where you have save in a format that our system is unable to recognise, and easily solved by yourself if you follow the steps below. (Hopefully!!!- Try and follow the steps below and it should all be hunky dory!)
We always used to struggle to understand why pictures would not upload to certain sites and why some e-mail attachments we could not read - however once we got the hang (after several tries!!) We found it quite simple to resolve the problems - therefore we have put together a few simple steps for you to follow in order to assist you.
(A) Try uploading again, but before you do go into your pictures on your computer - right click on the one you want to use on our site (before opening) - look at the properties make sure it is saved as a jpg (should be last 3 characters of file type if not go to step
(B) Do the same again as above - Right click again on it as before and choose edit, then at the top of the page go into file - choose save as (and make sure under the name you choose to save it your picture as - at the bottom of the window that comes up - you select jpg file to save it as (should be in a little drop down menu if you click on the arrow on the right, it also has other file types on the same line JPEG -(JPG, JPEG, JPE, JFIF ) select this and save the picture.
(C) Then simply go back to your Right Equine account (my account on the top menu of our site) click on your advert title - follow the steps through to picture upload page -delete the incompatible pictures - save it and go through again and put this time upload the new pictures. and re-load your picture jpg and it will be live for all to see.
It may seem frustrating and difficult when you are not familiar if you are not a self confessed wiz kit - but these steps are quite simple once you get used to doing it and jpg is the most commonly used form of saving pictures so it will be useful for you to become familiar with checking and changing the format of how they are saved for now and for future use not only of our site but for sending e-mail pictures (as some people are unable to open other files)
We hope this is helpful - if you have any problems doing this please give us a call and we will endeavour to assist you and resolve any difficulties that you may have ASAP. Don't be worried about asking for further assistance, we are delighted to help you as we want you to become and remain a loyal Right Equine user and spread the word about our new site.
If you have followed the steps above and are still unable to upload your pictures please contact us urgently as there may be a bug on our site that we are unaware of and need to resolve urgently.
How do I register with Right Equine - Simply fill in the registration details on the top menu bar. (all registered users that register before the end of August 2006 may choose to go into our prize draw to win 2 tickets to the Horse Of The Year Show 2006).
Can I place more than one advert - Yes you may place as many adverts as you like on Right Equine, if you sell products or horses or services for business use you must register as a trader (but you may still have a standard account). Your adverts are stored for a limited period on your account and you can choose to activate or remove your advert at any time (adverts that are removed appear on the site for a limited period with a sold sign) All adverts will show the same contact details - if you update your contact details it will update all of your adverts with the new contact details.
If I register an e-mail on my advert, will my e-mail address appear with my advert - No an e-mail link will appear which keeps your e-mail address private, e-mails will be forwarded to you in the normal way via Right Equine, however we blocks or removes e-mails that contain website and e-mails addresses in the content of the message and receive copies of e-mails forwarded to you in order to monitor the use of the link and stop competitors contacting you. You may choose not to display an e-mail link with your advert - please select this option when registering, you may choose to update this later.
How many pictures should I put on with my advert - we recommend that you put as may pictures as you feel necessary (or allowed) to show your horse or product off to the best potential, ensure that pictures are a fair representation of the horse or item and that they are clear.
What happens when my advert or account package expires - Right Equine will contact you via e-mail to advise you and give you the opportunity to re-subscribe or advertise.
What do I do if I sell my horse or item - you can place a sold banner immediately on your advert by going into your account and clicking on your advert and putting a sold flag against your advert - but remember to click to apply - a sold banner will appear on your advert for a limited period and then the advert will be removed from view. Please use the sold banners rather than deleting your advert as it allows us to track the success of our site.
What do I do if my advert does not appear on the site? - go into your account and check that you have activated your advert, you need to activate the adverts before they will appear on the site. If you have any further difficulties do not hesitate in contacting us sales@rightequine.com.
How do I change my Internet Options to test upload times? - This feature is only available when running Microsoft Internet Explorer.
To calculate the upload times for your adverts images we need to get the file size of each file you have selected. This is totally safe and secure however as this must access your disk drive you need to allow the script to do this by adjusting one of your Internet security settings. The setting you need to adjust is called "Initialise and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe" and the instructions below show how to change this setting:
- Open the Internet Options settings window from the Tools menu:

- In the Internet Options window, select the Security tab:

- Click on the Custom Level button to open the Security Settings window
scroll down to the "Initialise and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe"
setting and change this to Prompt:

- Click on the OK button to save your changes, and when prompted to
confirm the change, say Yes:

- Your setting have now been changed. When you next click on the
Estimate Upload Time button, you will be asked to allow the ActiveX
control to run, at this prompt click Yes
